“If you had one localization tip for engaging global audiences, what would it be?”
Last week, an interesting and thought provoking Localization World 31 took place in Dublin, where localization and translation professionals gathered for a three day event to learn more about engaging global audiences through localization. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event and we loved seeing so many of you visiting our stand (I hope you enjoyed the Guinness and cupcakes).
During the event we contacted various speakers to find out what would be there top localization tip for engaging a global audience/customer. We’ve selected a few of our favorites, which you can see below:
Do you understand your customers?
@sdltrados Understand them from the outset before starting to engage with them. Customer understanding comes first.

A common theme but one that is so important, know your customer! To understand how to engage a global audience and customer base, you must initially carry out thorough research and audience profiling in order to understand what exactly appeals to them. Once you have this information, you will be in a healthier position to not only appeal to them, but also engage and turn them into an audience that converts.
Content is king!

Content is king, but make sure the source files can be translated. It is also important to ensure the meaning of your content can be easily translated as you do not want to lose the context during the translation process. You also need to be sure it resonates with the target language.
